Been watching Kobe since i was 6 years old, im 26 now... he's the reason i fell in love with the game of basketball. I watched him have the highest highs, and lowest lows. He sacrificed so much to be great, his obsession for the game and improvement kept him from being "satisfied or "content". He was always hungry for more. It seemed until he retired was he able to relax and spend time with his family. He was on his way to help push Women's basketball to the next level, and his daughter Gigi was seemingly going to be the next in line. This makes the accident such a hard thing to digest.

In the baskeball world they often refer to the "basketball gods" as a way for players to stay true to the game in terms of integrity, respect, appreciation. "You can't cheat the basketball gods".

Now i truly believe Kobe is the figure head that illustrates this. He's always up there watching. RIP Kobe & Gianna

Thanks for writing this, Polina.

Re-read it twice. Great write-up and summarization of what and who Kobe was :)
