How to cure stage fright? Realise the whole world's a stage. Easier said than done, I know. Being nervous and being excited release the same chemical in your brain, so tell yourself you're not nervous, you're excited. Tell it to yourself aloud as often as you need to. Athletes do that all the time. Oh yes, and stay hydrated.

This applies only to speaking when you can read a speech but it is extremely effective.

Write your speech in very large and bold font and, most importantly write it in speaking phrases. Like this.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN

WELCOME

I AM SO PLEASED TO BE HERE TONIGHT

You want to be able to quickly glance down and capture the next phrase. Doing so enables you to SLOW DOWN, compose yourself and make eye contact with your audience.

It works

So well.
