When I read this piece it felt like I could have written it. I love NYC in a way that's hard to describe. The energy, the vibe, the jazz, the dance, the galleries.. every sense of mine feels stimulated and alive. I feel I can be the best version of myself. I just feel so happy there. I've been there 3 times and each time I leave my heart there. It's my place and I would so love to live there.
It's heartwarming to hear how you followed your dreams and made that city your own, even in the face of challenges and moments of doubt. Thank you for sharing this beautiful reflection.
This was highly captivating, motivating, and emotional. I am amazed at how your writing conveys emotion in a way that I can truly feel. Thank you for sharing your story, and best of luck to the entire family.
As someone who moved to NYC a few days ago, I am very nervous but excited to see what I can make happen in this city.
Thank you so much, Shain! I'm so happy you liked it!! NYC really is what you make it, and that's the beauty of it. I'm sure you will build something spectacular.
That was really something! You convey your thoughts and feelings brilliantly; especially the day you arrived, I could feel the anxiousness in your writing.
Also, the piece by ‘Colson W’ I’d never heard of that, before. Let me tell you, the way you put it across, I could feel the emotion, it moved me.
I’m genuinely pleased that you’re all back ‘home’, again and wish you all the very best and continued happiness.
This is so beautiful. Only a person who has ever lived in NYC will be able to write about the feeling so perfectly. ❤️ I moved out of NYC in 2019 and have been wanting to go back. It’s the small things that make it such a great city - the coffee cart by the street, the loud stranger walking next to you, or the random neighbors yelling at each other. It’s the story that just smacks you in the face.
Agreed that NY is truly what you make of it, in all the best ways! Heads up that I tried emailing you to see if you would be interested (for a fee) to speak about your book at our company offsite, by Zoom. Let me know if i can share more info!

Did you move with Pomp+kid or just yourself? I wonder if Pomp has the same sentiments about the city as you do. Upstate NYer here.
We all did! He wrote something too: https://pomp.substack.com/p/when-the-facts-change-i-change-my#details
